The success of the last-generation CMOS cooperation project between the two parties has prompted the launch of the 28-nm CMOS process service. Both parties launched 45nm, 65nm, 90nm and 130nm process services in 2008, 2006, 2004 and 2003 respectively. In addition, CMP also provides 65nm and 130nm SOI (silicon on insulator) and 130nm SiGe manufacturing process services from STMicroelectronics. For example, 170 universities and enterprises have been able to use the 90nm CMOS process design rules and design tools of STMicroelectronics, and more than 200 universities and enterprises (60% for European customers; 40% for American and Asian customers) ) 65nm bulk and SOI CMOS process design rules and design tools are available. Currently, 45/40 nanometer CMOS process services are still under development.
Bernard Courtois, director of CMP, said: "Customers are very interested in using these processes to design chips. Approximately 300 projects are designed using 90-nanometer technology (completed in 2009), and 200 projects are using 65-nanometer technology. In addition, 65-nanometer SOI There are more than 60 technology projects, and many well-known colleges and universities in Europe, the United States and Asia have benefited from the services of CMP / STMicroelectronics. "
The CMP multi-project wafer service allows design organizations to obtain advanced ICs ranging from dozens to thousands. The minimum pricing area is 1mm2, and the price of 28nm CMOS process services is fixed at 15,000 Euros / mm2.
